GETTING INVOLVED There are many ways for you to get involved with Berkshire Rec. The first and maybe the most important way is to come to our meetings. The Rec meetings are generally held on the first Monday of each month at the High School library. If a holiday or weather prohibits the meeting, they are usually re-scheduled for the following Monday. The meetings begin at the conclusion of the Berkshire Athletic Boosters meeting, which is usually between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Coaches are always needed for the different sports. Keep in mind that if you are the Head Coach for a team or a Commissioner for a sport, your children (any or all) play that sport or activity FREE OF CHARGE for that season! Referees and adult supervision are always needed for various programs. Helping with the maintenance of facilities/fields is also needed. Serving as a Commissioner, Officer, or Trustee are other ways to help. You will learn more about the roles of these positions as you attend our meetings. Volunteering for the Rec at Bingo is another way to help. The Boosters organization has Bingo at the high school cafeteria almost every Sunday of the year. The Rec sells all of the game sheets to the Bingo players when they arrive to play. Three people are needed for two hours at the sales table. This is our main fund-raiser, and by doing this we are not forced to sell candy, pizza, gift-wrap, or other goods to sustain our organization. To summarize, the best way to get involved with the Rec is to START ATTENDING OUR MEETINGS! We need your OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS, AND HELP! Contact Us: |
